(75) Eurydike, customer retention and recovery policies

(75) Eurydike is a main belt asteroid (middle zone I) discovered in September of 1862. It was spotted without being identified in January of 1947 and September of 1958.

The orbit is locateed at the middle zone of the main belt. It has a perihelion of 1.85 AU and an aphelion of 3.48 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.67 AU. It has an orbital period of 4 years and 134 days. It has an inclination of 5.0º. It has a diameter of about 56 km.

Orbital resonance:
1:1 with Juno (99.9)

Greek mythology

Eurydice was a dryad, a nymph of trees, especially of oaks. She lived in Thrace in love with Orpheus.

On her wedding day, Aristeo --a rival pastor from Orpheus-- tried to kidnap her. She managed to get rid of him, but during the escape she accidentally stepped on a poisonous snake, which fatally bit her foot.

Desperated, Orpheus decided to descend into the underground world to search for her. Thanks to his charm with the lyre, he got Charon to take him in his boat to the other shore of the Styx lagoon, that the Cerberus guardian opened the doors of the underworld to him, and also that Hades allowed him to take his beloved back.

"Safe Haven" (2013)

The asteroid Eurydike is related with customer retention and recovery policies, based on the resolution of dissatisfactions that may arise.

"The Age of Adaline" (2015)

Josh Duhamel, actor of the movie "Safe Haven" (2013), has Eurydike in Leo (6th Moon-Node House), in sextile with Pluto in Libra (4th Moon-Node House); in square with Ceres in Scorpio (3rd Moon-Node House); and in trine with Neptune in Sagittarius (2nd Moon-Node House).

Cobie Smulders, actress of the movie "Safe Haven" (2013), has Eurydike in Leo (12th Moon-Node House), in trine with Uranus, which is in trine with Mercury in Aries (4th Moon-Node House).

Harrison Ford, actor of the movie "The Age of Adaline" (2015), has Eurydike in Cancer (2nd Moon-Node House), in quincunx with the Galactic Center in Sagittarius (9th Moon-Node House), which is in opposition to the Black Moon, and in square with Neptune in Virgo (12th Moon-Node House).

Blake Lively, actress of the movie "The Age of Adaline" (2015), has Eurydike in Virgo (7th Moon-Node House, cusp), in quincunx with Jupiter in Aries (12th Moon-Node House, cusp); and in quincunx with Juno in Aquarius (2nd Moon-Node House, cusp).

Peneus, official name of the satellite of the asteroid (41) Daphne

The satellite of the asteroid (41) Daphne was discovered in March 2008 and oficially named Peneus in March 2019.

Peneus, son of the titans Oceanus and Thetis, was a river god in Greek mythology. He had a son and three daughters with the nymph Creusa.

When Eros, god of passionate love, became angry with Apollo for having mocked about his skill with the bow, he shot an arrow to make him fall in love with Daphne, one of Peneus' daughters, knowing in advance that she would reject him.

When Daphne saw that Apollo was about to reach her, she asked her father for help and he turned her into a laurel tree. For Apollo, that tree was sacred.

Damian Lewis, actor of the TV series "Life" (2007), has Daphne in Virgo (6th Moon-Node House), near the Black Moon; in trine with Saturn in Taurus (10th Moon-Node House).

Sarah Shahi, actress of the TV series "Life" (2007), has Daphne in Leo (1st Moon-Node House), near the opposition with Venus; in trine with Neptune in Sagittarius (9th Moon-Node House); in sextile with Pluto in Libra (11th Moon-Node House); and in semisextile with the Black Moon in Virgo (12th Moon-Node House).

Parthenope in Greek mythology

Parthenope was a very beautiful woman, but Aphrodite transformed her into a mermaid.

The legend tells that Odysseus, venturing into a zone of sirens, ordered to his crew --according to Council of Circe-- to clog the ears with wax to prevent their influence. He did not clogged his ears to be able to enjoy the songs, but asked his crew to tie him to the mast. Parthenope, failing to seduce Odysseus with her songs, threw her self to the sea and drowned. The waves dragged up her body to the shore of the beach, where it was buried with multiple honours.

(28) Bellona, face to face handkerchief game (catch it and run back, or run foward to touch the other kid if the kierchief is aready caught by the other)

(28) Bellona is a main belt asteroid discovered in March of 1854 and rediscovered in February of 1951. It has a perihelion of 2.36 AU and an aphelion of 3.20 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.78 AU (near the 5:2 mean motion resonance with Jupiter; and near the 2:5 resonance with Mars). It has a diameter of about 120 km. There are important photometric observations in the years 1979, 1983 and 2007. It has an inclination of 9.4º.

Roman mythology

The name "Bellona" derived from the Latin word for "war" (bellum), and is directly related to the modern English words "belligerent" (lit., "war-waging"), "bellicose" and "antebellum". In art, she is portrayed with a helmet on her head, usually wearing a breastplate or plate armour, bearing a sword, spear, shield, or other weaponry, sometimes holding a flaming torch or sounding the Horn of Victory and Defeat.

The discovery of (28) Bellona clashed with the emergence of boxing rules designed to prevent death while the combat is goning on, and with the transition from boxing for money toward sportiness.

Rules of the handkerchief game

  1. On both teams, each player is numbered.
  2. To begin, a random number is chosen by the person holding the scarf.
  3. Players from each team assigned with the called number, must come to the scarf, without crossing the dividing line.
  4. The purpose is to take the handkerchief and run back to the line of its own team.
  5. Once the handkerchief has been picked up, the other player can cross over the dividing line of each field and if the player that is taking the handkerchief is touched by the other player before he reaches back to the line of his team, it is removed of the game.
  6. The numbers of the removed players are reassigned by the rest of the players of the team.

(28) Bellona is related to the Martial syndrome of attack or escape, which produces an instinctive reaction of forward or withdrawal during a face-to-face confrontation, like in the game of the handkerchief (between take it or wait until the other player catches it), in a boxing match (between hitting or dodge) or in an auction (between increasing the bid or withdraw).

(55) Pandora, courage needed to make a big step foward

(55) Pandora is a main belt asteroid discovered in September of 1858. It has a perihelion of 2.37 AU and an aphelion of 3.15 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.76 AU (near the 8:3 mean motion resonance with Jupiter). It has a diameter of about 67 km. It has an inclination of 7.2º. There are important photometric observations in the years 1977 and 2010.

Greek mythology

Pandora was a by-product of the cyclical interaction between Prometheus and Zeus:
  1. Prometheus convinced the human beings to stay with the best part of the ox offered in sacrifice to the gods, giving to these, the bones hidden behind a layer of fat.
  2. Upon discovering the deception, Zeus punished humanity, taking away the fire.
  3. But Prometheus stole it from the gods and gave it back to the humanity.
  4. Then Zeus, in an act of supremacy, chained Prometheus to a rock in the Caucasus, where an eagle extracted his liver every day, after been regenerated during the night, due to his immortality.
  5. In addition, Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create Pandora. All the gods honored her with gifts, giving her beauty, cunning, eloquence, manual dexterity and curiosity. Zeus sent her, by means of Hermes, to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus, in whose house was a box containing all the misfortunes that could affect humanity. Prometheus, had already warned Epimetheus to do not accept gifts from Zeus, but after seeing Pandora he could not resist. Finally, in spite of so much that he had been forbidden by Epimetheus, Pandora opened the box as Zeus had planned, and all the misfortunes were scattered throughout the world. However, the box also contained hope, which would help mankind to overcome all these evils.

"While this story has been interpreted a number of diferent ways, the interpretation that best fit the minor planet is to view the problems that were released as unforeseen challenges, and to view the hope as the better life one will have if one conquers those challenges." (Zane B. Stein)

To go out to face it

The drive and initiative of the cardinal cross is combined with the action of the fire element to give a great step forward and make decisive actions to achieve personal goals. The strength of the core of the I is necessary to be able to remain firm in the purpose and go ahead with the action taken, ready to confront everything that could get in the way.

In the movie "Tangled" (2010), the young Rapunzel lives with her mother at the top of a tower, hidden in the forest. Her mother makes her believe that the outside world is riddled with dangers and ban her to leave the tower.

Rapunzel feels an immense curiosity by the floating lights that appear on the horizon, every year the day of her birthday. That intrigue is increasing until, at the age of 18 years old, she has enough courage to asks her mother to take her to see the floating lights. But her mother dissuade her in all possible ways.

One day, while her mother is on a trip, the young Flyn, escaping from the guards of the palace, after having stolen the royal haversack, hide in the tower of Rapunzel, but she captures him and hides the haversack. Finally she reaches an agreement with him to be guide to the city, in time to see the floating lanterns.

"Tangled" (2010)

Once (55) Pandora has taken the step forward, is faced with a new and unknown situation, in which it is easy to make mistakes due to the inexperience. However, the risk is worthwhile, as it leads to self-realization and a greater integration in the society.

It has a diameter of about 115 km. In September of 1980 occulted a star. There are important observations in the years 1986 and 2006-2008.

Roman mythology

Diana ('heavenly' or 'divine') was the goddess of hunt, the moon and birthing, being associated with wild animals and woodland, and having the power to talk to animals and direct them. She was protective of immature forms of life, both in the animal kingdom as in the human.

(78) Diana can move without making any noise and easily approach to animals that are usually very jumpy. On the other hand, (78) Diana also has a especial sense of self-protection and reacts instinctively in the face of any form of inappropriate approach or contact.

(149) Medusa, respecting fundamental rights

(149) Medusa is a main belt asteroid discovered in September of 1875.

The orbit is located at the inner main belt. It has a perihelion of 2.03 AU and an aphelion of 2.31 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.17 AU. It has an orbital period of 3 years and 76 days. It has an inclination of 0.9º. It has a diameter of about 20 km.

There was an important photometric observation in the year 2010.

Orbital resonance:
5:16 with Earth-Moon (99.6%)
10:17 with Mars (99.6%)  *[7:12 with Mars (99.5%)]
-
15:11 with Juno (99.6%)
5:3 with Interamnia (99.9%)
14:9 with Psyche (99.9%)
7:4 with Davida (99.8%)
17:10 with Europa (99.8%)
7:4 with Euphrosyne (99.8%)

Greek mythology

Medusa ('guardian', 'protectress') was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as having the face of a hideous human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Gazing directly into her eyes would turn onlookers to stone. Medusa was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield.

Medusa was a priestess in the temple of Athena and, originally, was a ravishingly beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," but after being raped by Poseidon in his own temple, Athena, enraged, confered defensive power to her by transforming her beautiful hair in snakes and making her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn onlookers to stone.

Medusa was pregnant by Poseidon when was beheaded by the hero Perseus while she was sleeping. With the help of Athena and Hermes, who gave him the winged sandals, a helmet of invisibility of Hades, a sword and shield mirrored, the hero killed Medusa approaching her without looking at her directly, but looking at the reflection of the Gorgon in the shield to avoid being petrified. His hand was being guided by Athena, so he could cut off her head. (Wikipedia: Medusa)

From the symbolic point of view, the fact that Medusa was raped by Poseidon in her own temple, means that it was someone known to the victim, that is why the consequences were so serious.

"Green Zone" (2010)

Defensive capability

The most outstanding of (149) Medusa is the ability to change the situation through very fast movements and almost reflex changes in the gestures of the face (5:16 resonance with Earth-Moon system).

"How To Train Your Dragon" (2010)

On the other hand, there are points of singularity in which there is a choice with karmic implications between two alternatives, from which the relationship takes a new direction (14:9 resonance with Psyche), like in the movie "Entangled" (2010).

"Tangled" (2010)

The other side of (149) Medusa is a well built admiration that is supported by facts or circumstances that respect fundamental rights (7:4 resonance with Davida).

(69230) Hermes, military radiophonic comunications

(69230) Hermes is a binary apollo asteroid discovered in October of 1937 and named in January of 1938, that was lost just after, until its rediscovery in August of 2003. There are prediscovery images back to June of 2002 and September-August of 2001.

Its orbit is between Mercury and the main belt. It has a perihelion of 0.62 AU and an aphelion of 2.68 AU. The semimajor axis is at 1.65 AU (aphelion of Mars). It has a diameter of about 450 + 300 m. It has an inclination of 6.0º. In April of 1942, reached a proximity of only 0.004 AU to Earth.

The companion of (69230) Hermaes was discovered in October of 2003.

Greek mythology

Hermes was the messenger of the gods. He was a deity of wealth, god of trade and travelers, of commerce, manual skill, oratory and eloquence, of thieves and of the wind.

The discovery of (69230) Hermes clashed with the transition from silent movies to sound movies, which resulted in changes in actors selection, since many actors of success in silent film, did not have an appropriate voice for sound movies.

During its rediscovery (August 2003), appeared the application Skipe, that allowed to talk on the phone, free of charge, via the internet with any part of the world.

(69230) Hermes is related with the modulation of voice and expressiveness through comunications by radio, specially the military type.

(212) Medea, assistant

(212) Medea is a main belt asteroid discovered in February of 1880. It has a perihelion of 2.79 AU and an aphelion of 3.45 AU. The semimajor axis is at 3.12 AU (near the 11:5 mean motion resonance with Jupiter). It has an inclination of 4.3º. In the year 1987 there was an importan photometric observation.

Greek Mythology

Medea was an enchantress who
married Jason and used her magic powers and advice to assist him. Thanks to her, Jason (leader of the Argonauts) obtained the Golden Fleece from her father, King Aeëtes of Colchis.

"Homeland" (TV series, 2nd Season; 2012)

Zone of proximal development

The zone of proximal development is a concept that defined Vygotski in the years just after the discovery of (134340) Pluto and the rediscovery of (212) Medea in 1930, and that had major implications in the evolutionary vision of intelligence from the stand point of the learning potential of the student. It refers to the tasks that a student still cannot do alone, but can be done under the guidance of a professor or a more advanced companion.

The main characteristic of (212) Medea is the combination of two factors: first, the knowledge and experience on the task at hand; and second, a deep knowledge on both ends of the polarity individual work and team work, which allows you to distinguish very clearly when it is really necessary to take part, so that the autonomy is maximized.

(212) Medea is related with the help or assistance in three types of situations: (1) learning or training, (2) evaluation or review, and (3) tasks that can only be done between two people.

(5370) Taranis, threatening material objects

(5370) Taranis is a centaur in 2:1 resonance with Jupiter, discovered in September of 1986. Its orbit is between Earth-Mars and Jupiter. It has a perihelion of 1.21 AU and an aphelion of 5.44 AU. The semimajor axis is at 3.33 AU. It has a diameter of about 3.6 km. It has an inclination of 19.0º.

(5370) Taranis was discovered in the months following the nuclear disaster of Chernobyl, ocurred in April of 1986:

"The Chernobyl disaster is the worst nuclear power plant accident in history in terms of cost and resulting deaths, and is one of only two classified as a level 7 event (the maximum classification) on the International Nuclear Event Scale (the other being the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011).

Immediately after the accident, the greater concern focused in the radioactive iodine, with a half-life of eight days. To date 2011, concerns are focused on the contamination of ground with strontium-90 and cesium-137, with half-lives of about 30 years. The highest levels of cesium-137 were found in the superficial layers of the ground, where they are absorbed by plants, insects and fungi, entering in the food chain." (Wikipedia: Chernobyl disaster)

Celtic mythology

Taranis was the Gaulish god of thunder (Irish 'torann' and Gallic 'Taran'), especially worshiped in the northwest of the Iberian peninsula (Asturias). His symbols were the wheel and the thunderbolt.

"A yang line develops below two yin lines and presses upward forcibly.  This movement is so violent that it arouses terror. It is symbolized by thunder,  which bursts forth from the earth and by its shock causes fear and trembling." (hexagram 51 of I-Ching)

Threatening material objects

(5370) Taranis is related with threatening material objects, that cause restlessness, fear or terror.

"Open Water" (2004)

Intense faith even in adverse material circumstances

On the other hand, (5370) Taranis is also able to develop a strong faith, that is not supported by any tangible circumstance of the environment, like the leap of faith at the end of the movie "Labyrinth" (1986).

"When a man has learned within his heart what fear and trembling mean, he is safeguarded against any terror produced by outside influences. Let the thunder roll and spread terror a hundred miles around: he remains so composed and reverent in spirit that the sacrificial rite is not interrupted. This is the spirit that must animate leaders and rulers of men— a profound inner seriousness from which all terrors glance off harmlessly." (Judgement of hexagram 51 of I-Ching)

(4) Vesta, enhaced focus of attention

(4) Vesta is a main belt asteroid discovered in March of 1807. It has a perihelion of 2.15 AU and an aphelion of 2.57 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.36 AU. It has a diameter of 525 km. There are important observations in the years 1880-1882, 1909, 1966, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1996, 2001, and especially, between August of 2011 and May of 2012.

Roman mythology

Vesta was named after the virgin goddess of sacred fire of home and hearth.

The main quality of (4) Vesta is her capability to centre the focus of attention, even though for a brief moment, like when a basketball player bowl ball to the basket after a fast movement through field or when a photografic camera is pointed (1st House example).

"When a Stranger Calls" (2006)

Obviously, there is quite a lot of difference if the element on which is (4) Vesta is masculine (fire-air) or feminine (earth-water). The call forth of a reminisce, for example, requires a much more long and wide attention (Cancer sign example).

(1566) Icarus, self-regulated diet and physical training

(1566) Icarus is an apollo asteroid discovered in June of 1949. The orbit is between Sun-Mercury and the main belt. It has a perihelion of 0.19 AU and an aphelion of 1.97 AU. It has an inclination of 22.8º (semioctile, 20' orb). It has a diameter of about 1.4 km.

Greek mythology

Daedalus, builder of the labyrinth on the island Crete, provided Ariadne the keys to the labyrinth to help Theseus to exit the maze. After the death of the Minotaur, king Midas, very angry, locked Daedalus and his son in the labyrinth.

Departure from the island by sea and land were controlled, so Daedalus built up wings from feathers that he pasted into the body through wax. Both flew off, but before doing so, Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too high, because the heat of the sun would melt the wax, neither too low, because the foam of the sea would wet wings and he would not be able to fly. (Wikipedia: Icarus)

(1566) Icarus combines the self-control of the Sun with the feed of the main belt. The result is the ability for self-regulation of the diet and the physical training, keeping the balance on high levels, but without overdoing in to any of the possible extremes.

As part of its interest in a healthy lifestyle, (1566) Icarus adopts a buddhist attitude oppositing psychotropic medication and other psychoactive substances that alter consciousness, causing ups and downs in the chemistry of the brain.

In the manga-anime "Dragon Ball Z" (1989), during his travel to the planet Namec, Goku gets ready with a regulable machine that generates artificial gravity.

Artificial gravity machine set to 20 G

Akira Toriyama, author of the manga "Dragon Ball" and "Dragon Ball Z", has Icarus in Aquarius in the Crossing Point of the Age Progressions (Basis Horoscope / Moon Node Horoscope). The conjuction Sun-Typhon in Aries is in sextile with Icarus in Aquarius and in trine with the Great Attractor in Sagittarius.

Ishtar in Babilonic mythology, temporary relationships

Ishtar was related to the star of eight points. She was shown standing up and naked. As a love goddess, Ishtar was the protector of prostitutes and sexual relations outside of marriage.

When she was young, she loved Tammuz, god of harvest. When Tammuz died, Ishtar descended to hell to pull up the power about life and death to her terrible sister Ereshkigal.

After giving instructions to her servant Papsukal, of going to rescue her if she does not came back, Ishtar descended to Irkalla, the subterranean world. She began brave and challenging, yelling to the porter to opend the door before she overthrow it. But, with everyone of the seven doors, she was shed of one article of clothing, and with it, part of her power, until she arrived completely naked and defenceless in the presence of Ereshkigal, who killed her and hung up her body on a nail.

Papsukal asked gods to create a living creature that was able to enter in the world of the deads and revive Ishtar with the food and water of life. That is how Ishtar came back to life, but she had to pay the price: during six months a year, Tammuz had to live in the word of the deads. While he was there, Ishtar suffered the loss

(30) Urania, proportional measures of quantity in recipes and diets

(30) Urania is a main belt asteroid discovered in July of 1854. It has a perihelion of 2.1 AU and an aphelion of 2.7 AU. There is an important observation in February of 1860 and also in the years 1948 and 2000. It has a diameter of about 100 km.

Greek Mythology

Urania (meaning ‘heavenly' or 'heaven') was the muse of astronomy and astrology. She was shown blue dressed, colour of the heavenly vault, with the Earth globe in her hands, in which she is measuring positions with a compasses. She has a crown or a headband with a formation of stars. At her feet there are some mathematics instruments.

(30) Urania is related to inventory lists, like the supermarket shopping list, where every item is detailed by units. In a context of food, (30) Urania is related to the proportional measures of quantity of each ingredient in recipes, or to self-records in diets (calculated in calories).

The concept of quantity of (30) Urania, also con be applied to time units, like for example "x days to full ripeness" or "x hours before expiration". Which is related with the concept of quality of the source of food.

Hekate was a goddess of wichcraft and is shown holding two torches or a key. She is called the "tender-hearted", a euphemism perhaps intended to emphasize her concern with the disappearance of Persephone, when she assisted Demeter with her search for Persephone following her abduction by Hades. Hekate speaked to the grieved Demeter with sweet words suggesting that she should speak to the god of the sun, Helios. Subsequently she became Persephone's companion on her yearly journey to and from the realms of Hades. (Wikipedia)

(100) Hekate gives counsels that assist and console, like in the movies "Noel" (2004) and "Brother Bear" (2003), when Kenai explains to Koda that his mother is not going to come back.

The astronomical observation of (100) Hekate in the year 2003, was overstriked by the discoveries of (136199) Eris and (208996) 2003 AZ84, which bring on very psychological conversations.

(10) Hygiea, cleanliness and sanitation

(10) Hygiea is an asteroid from the main belt discovered in April of 1849. It has a perihelion of 2.8 UA and an aphelion of 3.5 UA. It has a diameter of about 420 km.

In the decade of 1840, just before the asteroid (10) Hygiea was discovered, the doctor Ignác Fülöp Semmelweis, who worked in the Hospice of Vienna, discovered that women admitted who gave birth had many more puerperal fever than those who did in their homes and he measured the mortality: 30%, in relation to 15% in home.

Semmelweis realized that those women who received more visits from doctors and students - many of them recently leaved from the operating room to treat others sick or of the dissection room- illed and died more. And it occurred to him to measure what happened if their companions washed their hands after entering into the room. By forcing the staff to wash their hands, infections were reduced to less than 10% of the admitted.

Greek mythology

Hygieia was the goddess of health, daughter of Asclepius (Aesculapius for the Romans).

The main theme of (10) Hygiea is cleanliness and sanitation, which is very important in infirmary and cook professions.
