Greek mythology

Dione ('divine queen', in ancient Greek) was the mother of Aphrodite.

(106) Dione is related with very feminine qualities, such as sweetness, delicacy and softness. Despite this, (106) Diones is able to perform tasks and move quickly (13:16 resonance with Ceres), like Princess Farah in the video game "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" (PS2, 2003 ).

Princess Farah ("Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time"; PS2, 2003)

Liv Tyler, actress of the movie "Jersey Girl" (2004) and the triology "The Lord of the Rings" (2001-2003), has Dione in Cancer (3rd Moon-Node House) in parallel aspect by declination with the Sun and Mercury in Cancer (4th Moon-Node House), wich are in the Crossing Point of Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope / Moon-Node Horoscope).

Matthew Broderick, actor of the movies "War Games" (1983) and "Gotzilla" (1998), has Dione in Scorpio (10th Moon-Node House), in trine with Mercury in Pisces (6th Moon-Node House), and in semisextile/quincunx with the Crossing Axis of Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope / Moon-Node Horoscope) in Gemini/Sagittarius.

(55) Pandora, courage needed to make a big step foward

(55) Pandora is a main belt asteroid discovered in September of 1858. It has a perihelion of 2.37 AU and an aphelion of 3.15 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.76 AU (near the 8:3 mean motion resonance with Jupiter). It has a diameter of about 67 km. It has an inclination of 7.2º. There are important photometric observations in the years 1977 and 2010.

Greek mythology

Pandora was a by-product of the cyclical interaction between Prometheus and Zeus:
  1. Prometheus convinced the human beings to stay with the best part of the ox offered in sacrifice to the gods, giving to these, the bones hidden behind a layer of fat.
  2. Upon discovering the deception, Zeus punished humanity, taking away the fire.
  3. But Prometheus stole it from the gods and gave it back to the humanity.
  4. Then Zeus, in an act of supremacy, chained Prometheus to a rock in the Caucasus, where an eagle extracted his liver every day, after been regenerated during the night, due to his immortality.
  5. In addition, Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create Pandora. All the gods honored her with gifts, giving her beauty, cunning, eloquence, manual dexterity and curiosity. Zeus sent her, by means of Hermes, to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus, in whose house was a box containing all the misfortunes that could affect humanity. Prometheus, had already warned Epimetheus to do not accept gifts from Zeus, but after seeing Pandora he could not resist. Finally, in spite of so much that he had been forbidden by Epimetheus, Pandora opened the box as Zeus had planned, and all the misfortunes were scattered throughout the world. However, the box also contained hope, which would help mankind to overcome all these evils.

"While this story has been interpreted a number of diferent ways, the interpretation that best fit the minor planet is to view the problems that were released as unforeseen challenges, and to view the hope as the better life one will have if one conquers those challenges." (Zane B. Stein)

To go out to face it

The drive and initiative of the cardinal cross is combined with the action of the fire element to give a great step forward and make decisive actions to achieve personal goals. The strength of the core of the I is necessary to be able to remain firm in the purpose and go ahead with the action taken, ready to confront everything that could get in the way.

In the movie "Tangled" (2010), the young Rapunzel lives with her mother at the top of a tower, hidden in the forest. Her mother makes her believe that the outside world is riddled with dangers and ban her to leave the tower.

Rapunzel feels an immense curiosity by the floating lights that appear on the horizon, every year the day of her birthday. That intrigue is increasing until, at the age of 18 years old, she has enough courage to asks her mother to take her to see the floating lights. But her mother dissuade her in all possible ways.

One day, while her mother is on a trip, the young Flyn, escaping from the guards of the palace, after having stolen the royal haversack, hide in the tower of Rapunzel, but she captures him and hides the haversack. Finally she reaches an agreement with him to be guide to the city, in time to see the floating lanterns.

"Tangled" (2010)

Once (55) Pandora has taken the step forward, is faced with a new and unknown situation, in which it is easy to make mistakes due to the inexperience. However, the risk is worthwhile, as it leads to self-realization and a greater integration in the society.

Greek mythology

Medusa ('guardian', 'protectress') was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as having the face of a hideous human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Gazing directly into her eyes would turn onlookers to stone. Medusa was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield.

Medusa was a priestess in the temple of Athena and, originally, was a ravishingly beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," but after being raped by Poseidon in his own temple, Athena, enraged, confered defensive power to her by transforming her beautiful hair in snakes and making her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn onlookers to stone.

Medusa was pregnant by Poseidon when was beheaded by the hero Perseus while she was sleeping. With the help of Athena and Hermes, who gave him the winged sandals, a helmet of invisibility of Hades, a sword and shield mirrored, the hero killed Medusa approaching her without looking at her directly, but looking at the reflection of the Gorgon in the shield to avoid being petrified. His hand was being guided by Athena, so he could cut off her head. (Wikipedia: Medusa)

From the symbolic point of view, the fact that Medusa was raped by Poseidon in her own temple, means that it was someone known to the victim, that is why the consequences were so serious.

Defensive capability

The most outstanding of (149) Medusa is the ability to change the situation through very fast movements and almost reflex changes in the gestures of the face (5:16 resonance with Earth-Moon system).

"How To Train Your Dragon" (2010)

On the other hand, there are points of singularity in which there is a choice with karmic implications between two alternatives, from which the relationship takes a new direction (14:9 resonance with Psyche), like in the movie "Entangled" (2010).

"Tangled" (2010)

The other side of (149) Medusa is a well built admiration that is supported by facts or circumstances that respect fundamental rights (7:4 resonance with Davida).

Historical character

Cleopatra VII (69-30 BC) was the last queen of Ancient Egypt, a time when was very widespread coregency or co-principality: a way of ruling in which Pharaoh exercised his/her monarch functions together with another person. This system allowed the learning of the future sovereign, at the same time that he/she was evaluated.

Furthermore, in Ancient Egypt, unlike what happened in later times, women in general, could share property with their husband, inherit, buy and sell property.

The asteroid Kleopatra is related with the access rights to shared functions or assets that are granted to a trusted person.

"Labyrinth" (1986)

Jennifer Connelly, actress of the movie "Labyrinth" (1986), has Kleopatra in Capricorn (2nd Moon-Node House, cusp) in trine with the Black Moon in Virgo (6th Moon-Node House, cusp); and in (hepta)cuartinovile@70º with Chiron in Aries (11th Moon-Node House).

11:16 with Juno (99.9%)
6:7 with Europa (99.8%)

Greek mythology

At first, the name chosen to call this asteroid was "Maximiliana" in honor to the King Maximilian II of Bavaria. But at that time, by convention, asteroids received classical mythological names and many astronomers protested.

In a hunting day, in which it began to rain, Atalanta and Hippomenes took refuge in a temple of Cybele and made love there, enraging the goddess for doing so in a sacred place. Cybele transformed them in male lions and sentenced them to look each at a diferent side so that they never would be able to see each other again.

(65) Cybele is related with the beliefs and structures of thought that determine the philosophy and personal way of seeing things.

  • 11:7 with Europa (99.6%)

Greek Poetry

Sappho was a Greek poet that lived during the 7th and 6th centuries BC in the island of Lesbos and wrote a wide range of poems about love.

(80) Sappho enjoys very much the company of the other person and, although the main interest of (80) Sappho is not the sexual relationship, so that the phase prior to it extends more than normal, there is a clear passion that manifests itself through an assertive attitude toward the relationship. Also, he/she makes jokes and symbolic allusions to the sexual contact.

(80) Sappho is related to the stage of the relationship immediately preceding the first kiss, which is characterized by very common visits and encounters: more time is spended with the person that is special. There is spontaneous good humor and details of earlier conversations are remembered; he/she always looks directly in the face when he/she speaks, aligning the chin; it maintains a closer distance, from which the casual grazes are more frequent; sits and places in positions slightly open and shows a total confidence during physical proximity.

"War Games" (1983)

(80) Sappho creates a solid commitment, that is increasingly strengthening, as the relationship moves from one stage to the next (resonance 5:4 with Juno).

Ally Sheedy, actress of the movies "War Games" (1983) and "Short Circuit" (1986), has Sappho in Pisces (5th Moon-Node House) in opposition to the Black Moon in Virgo (11th Moon-Node House), and in square with the Sun in Gemini (2nd Moon-Node House).

[Hailee Steinfeld, actress of the movie "The Edge of Seventeen" (2016), has Sappho in Capricorn (10th Moon-Node House) in the Crossing Point of Age Progressions (Signs Horoscope / Moon-Node Horoscope), and in semisextile with Uranus in Aquarius (9th Moon-Node House).]

-
17:3 with Hygiea (99.9)
14:3 with Ceres (99.7)

25:6 with Amphitrite (99.6)

Egyptian mythology

Named for the Egyptian god-king Khufu, better known by his Greek name of Cheops, a pharoah of the 29th century B.C. and builder of the largest of the great pyramids at Giza, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

The discovery of the asteroid Khufu coincided with the popularization of martial arts films, like "Karate Kid" (1984), in which the protagonist first lost against the bad guy, but then developed a special technique, with which he finally managed to beat him.

"Ghouls 'n Ghosts" (Capcom, 1988)

It also coincided with the popularization of video games, like "Kung Fu Master" (1984), in which at the end of each phase or at the end of the game itself, a particularly difficult boss or monster awaited, which, however, due to it was a character controlled by the computer and limited to its artificial intelligence, sooner or later, one became familiar with its movements and ended up discovering its weak points and the way to beat him.

Similarly, the asteroid Khufu is related with the ability to develop appropriate strategies or techniques to fight opponents --who initially may  seem invulnerable-- by closely observing their movements.

"Karate Kid" (2010)

Jackie Chan, actor of the movie "Karate Kid" (2010), has Khufu in Aries (10th Moon-Node House) in opposition to the Black Moon; and in binovile with the Lunar Node in Capricorn (1st Moon-Node House, cusp).

(3753) Cruithne, intelligent and powerful phrase

(3753) Cruithne is an aten asteroid in 1:1 resonance with the Earth discovered in October of 1983 and rediscovered in October of 1986 [1983 UH=1986 TO]. There are prediscovery images back to November of 1979, October of 1975 and October of 1973. The dinamics of the orbit was understood in the year 1997, it is between Mercury and Mars, but constantly modified by the gravity of the Earth (co-orbital asteroid). It has a perihelion of 0.48 AU and an aphelion of 1.51 AU. It has an inclination of 19.8º.

Named for the most common term used by the Irish for the Picts--one of the ancient peoples of Scotland. 'Cruithne' was the eponymous ancestor of the Picts, and it was his seven sons who gave their names to the seven divisions of the Pictish Kingdom.

The word Picts comes from 'picti' in latin meaning 'the painted' or 'the tattooed'; the world could also come from 'peihta' in celtic, previous popular etymology, meaning 'fighter'.

Brands, tattoos and piercings of tribal warrior

With (3753) Cruithne, body language acquires great importance. First, through the distance and relative position of the body during the communication; and second, through the physical appearance, which includes the body (tattoos, hair and beard), clothing (corporate or official uniform, for example) and equipment (tools or weapons).

(3753) Cruithne represents the powerful and intelligent phrase, full of will, that inclines the balance of a discussion towards victory, like Luck at the end of the movie "Star Wars. Episode VI - The Return of the Jedi" (1983).
