Historical character

(45) Eugenia was the second asteroid to be named after a real person, instead of one of the classical mythology (the first was (12) Victoria, which received the name of the Queen of the United Kingdom).

The Empress Eugenia de Montijo (1826-1920) was born in Granada (Spain), but at the age of 9 years she was sent to France to study at the Convent of the Sacred Heart. At the age of 23 years she met Napoleon III, with whom she married four years later.

(45) Eugenia is related with the displacement to the source of nourish, like migratory birds in nature.
