(54) Alexandra, ability to evaluate the social environment of a certain area depending on the time or day of the year

(54) Alexandra is a main belt asteroid (middle zone I) discovered in September of 1858. It was spotted without being identified in January of 1950 and April of 1974.

Its orbit is located in the central area of the main belt. It has a perihelion of 2.17 AU and an aphelion of 3.24 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.70 AU. It has an orbital period of 4 years and 167 days. It has an inclination of 11.8º (semiquincile@12º, 0º12' orb; untrigintile@11º37', 0º11' orb). It has a diameter of about 154 km. [uncertainty=0; H=7.7]

Photometric observations were carry out between the years 1990-1992. A Stellar occultation ocurred in May 2005.

It has the following orbital resonances:

Historical character

The asteroid Alexandra is named after the naturalist and astronomer Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859), especially recognized for setting the foundations of the discipline 'biogeography', which studies the distribution of species and ecosystems throughout geographic space and geological time.

Distribution of the world population today

The asteroid Alexandra is related with the ability to assess the social environment of a determined urban, rural or geographical area, depending on the moment of the diurnal and annual cycle.

Shore of a beach during the summer season

The asteroid Alexandra pays special attention not only to the amount of people that may be in a certain place, but also to their individual characteristics that predominate in the population group, such as age, gender, etc...

Dian Fossey, zoologist recognized for her scientific work and for the protection and conservation of gorillas in the Virunga Mountains, in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has Alexandra in Cancer (9th Moon-Node House, cusp), in opposition to Mars; in quincunx with Vesta in Aquarius (2nd Moon-Node House, cusp) [which is in conjunction with Venus]; and in trine with the Moon Node in Pisces and with the Crossing Point of Age Progressions in Pisces [which are in conjunction with the Aries point].

Sigourney Weaver, actress of the movie "Gorillas in the Mist" (1988), has Alexandra in Leo (9th Moon-Node House), in trine/sextile with the Crossing Axis of Age Progressions in Aries/Libra [which is conjunct Mercury in Libra (7th Moon-Node House) and in square with Uranus in Cancer (10th Moon-Node House)].

(60) Echo, reinforcing the conversation through feedback

(60) Echo is a main belt asteroid (inner zone II) discovered in September of 1860. It was spotted without being identified in March of 1899.

It has a perihelion of 1.95 AU and an aphelion of 2.83 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.39 AU. It has an orbital period of 3 years and 256 days. It has an inclination of 3.6º. It has a diameter of about 60 km.

Stellar occultations occurred in December 2005, September 2018, and January 2020.

It has the following orbital resonances:

Semi-major axis:
  • 16:5 with Jupiter (99.9)
  • 1:6 with Venus (99.7)
  • 5:4 with Pallas (99.8)
  • 13:9 with Interamnia (%100.0)
  • 12:7 with Cybele (99.9)
  • 5:4 with Herculina (99.8)

Perihelion:
  • 11:16 with Marte (99.9)
  • 8:5 with Juno (99.8)
  • 2:1 with Europa (99.7)
  • 3:2 with Amphitrite (99.7)

Aphelion:
  • 4:3 with Cybele (%100.0)
  • 6:7 with Amphitrite (99.9)
  • 8:7 with Europa (99.9)

Greek mythology

Echo was a nymph who entertained Hera through long conversations, in order to facilitate Zeus's sexual encounters with other nymphs.

When Hera realized what was happening, she punished Echo by making her unable to speak; she only could repeat the last word of each other's sentence.

She became interested in Narcissus, a young man who lived in love with himself, after having observed her own reflection on a lake.

The asteroid Echo is related with the ability to reinforce conversation through words, sounds or gestures, which express emotions of approval, surprise, etc ... indicating that one is active listening (Aha... Aha...). Which can generate security, disinhibition or good humor in the other person, depending on the case, and significantly modify the rhythm of the conversation.

In certain cases, such as children or foreigners who are not fluent enough with the language, the asteroid Echo also allows to correct or rectify the communication of the other person.

John Cho, actor of the movie "Searching" (2018), has Echo in Gemini (8th Moon-Node House), in conjunction with Saturn.
