Phase of life

Childhood is a phase of life in which everything is a game and it is always fun to make new friends.

Jack B. Child, software engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Asteroid Project director of the World Space Foundation, was from whom derives the name of this asteroid. His generous helpfulness over the years has been greatly appreciated. He has played a very important role in introducing team members to the Palomar planet-crossing asteroid survey project.

(4580) Child is related with attitudes and behaviors that make easy the inclusion of new people in the group, like in the movie "Labyrinth" (1986) and in the manga-anime "Dragon Ball" (1986).

(28) Bellona, face to face handkerchief game (catch it and run back, or run foward to touch the other kid if the kierchief is aready caught by the other)

(28) Bellona is a main belt asteroid discovered in March of 1854 and rediscovered in February of 1951. It has a perihelion of 2.36 AU and an aphelion of 3.20 AU. The semimajor axis is at 2.78 AU (near the 5:2 mean motion resonance with Jupiter; and near the 2:5 resonance with Mars). It has a diameter of about 120 km. There are important photometric observations in the years 1979, 1983 and 2007. It has an inclination of 9.4º.

Roman mythology

The name "Bellona" derived from the Latin word for "war" (bellum), and is directly related to the modern English words "belligerent" (lit., "war-waging"), "bellicose" and "antebellum". In art, she is portrayed with a helmet on her head, usually wearing a breastplate or plate armour, bearing a sword, spear, shield, or other weaponry, sometimes holding a flaming torch or sounding the Horn of Victory and Defeat.

The discovery of (28) Bellona clashed with the emergence of boxing rules designed to prevent death while the combat is goning on, and with the transition from boxing for money toward sportiness.

Rules of the handkerchief game

  1. On both teams, each player is numbered.
  2. To begin, a random number is chosen by the person holding the scarf.
  3. Players from each team assigned with the called number, must come to the scarf, without crossing the dividing line.
  4. The purpose is to take the handkerchief and run back to the line of its own team.
  5. Once the handkerchief has been picked up, the other player can cross over the dividing line of each field and if the player that is taking the handkerchief is touched by the other player before he reaches back to the line of his team, it is removed of the game.
  6. The numbers of the removed players are reassigned by the rest of the players of the team.

(28) Bellona is related to the Martial syndrome of attack or escape, which produces an instinctive reaction of forward or withdrawal during a face-to-face confrontation, like in the game of the handkerchief (between take it or wait until the other player catches it), in a boxing match (between hitting or dodge) or in an auction (between increasing the bid or withdraw).

Greek mythology

Daphne rejected many potential lovers. He had always shown her preference for hunting and exploring forests. Her father, a river god, would have liked to have grandchildren, but she asked him to let her remain single. Even so, her father warned her that she was too beautiful to keep all her suitors aloof.
Apollo, continually went after her, begging her to stay with him, but Daphne continued to flee until the gods intervened helping Apollo to reach her. When Daphne realized that Apollo was about to catch her, she asked her father for help and suddenly her skin became tree bark, her hair became leaves and her arms became the branches of a laurel. When her feet rooted in the earth, Apollo embraced the branches, but even then, they contracted.

Apollo promised that he would love her forever and that the branches of the tree would crown the heads of the heroes. In addition, he gave it eternal youth and immortality so that it would always be green.

Unrequested love

Love letter from the movie "Snow Falling on Cedars" (1999): "Dear Ishmael... I can't think of anything more painful... than writing this letter to you. I feel I have to tell you the truth. When we met the last time in the cedar tree... and I felt your body move against mine... I knew with certainty... that everything was wrong. I knew we could never be right together... and that soon I would have to tell you so. And now... with this letter... I am telling you.

This is the last time I'll write to you. I'm not yours anymore. I don't love you, Ishmael. I can think of no more honest way to say it. When I heard your heart beating... as we lay together... I felt closer to you than I had ever been to anyone. And I knew... when I heard your heart beating... it could not last forever. I loved you... and I didn't love you at the same moment. Whenever we were together... I knew it. I'm going to move on with my life... as best I can. And I hope that you will, too.

You must live. I must say good-bye to you. I know you will do great things in this world. You have a gentle heart. A good heart. I will never forget you... and the time we spent together."

(41) Daphne has the ability to detect incompatibilities that normally go unnoticed at first.

Youki Kudoh, actress of the movie "Snow Falling on Cedars" (1999), has Daphne in Virgo (6th Moon-Node House) --near the Crossing Point of Age Progressions (Sign Horoscope)--, in conjunction with the Black Moon; and in trine with Juno in Taurus (10th Moon-Node House).

Ryan Reynolds, actor of the movie "Definitely, Maybe" (2008), has Daphne in Capricorn (11th Moon-Node House, cusp) in semisextile with Venus in Sagittarius (12th Moon-Node House, cusp); and in sextile with the Moon in Scorpio (1st Moon-Node House, cusp).

12:11 with Psyche (99.7%)

Greek and Roman mythology

Minerva was the goddess of wisdom, strategy and justice. She put on her coat the decapitated head of Medusa, a priestess of her temple, who was raped by Neptune right there.

Gorgoneion was an amulet adorned with the head of the Gorgon (Medusa), while Aegis was one of the main elements of the prodigious armor of Zeus and Athena. Although the different traditions conceived in a variety of ways, generally the Aegis of Zeus was a shield, and the one of Athena was a breastplate of goat skin. By extension, it also meant 'coat', 'protection', 'defence'; it was the symbol of the invulnerability guaranteed by the gods.

The cases in which there has been a violation of a fundamental right without precedents, constitute an unique case, from which new laws can be created, or the existing ones can be modified, to ensure the protection. So that the mythological connection between Medusa and Minerva.

The rediscovery of (93) Minerva, clashed with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. After the Second World War, the concern for human rights was one of the main reasons for creating the United Nations, which would create a legal framework designed to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

(93) Minerva is related with the creation of rules or laws that regulate areas were there is a legal vacuum, like in the movie "My Syster's Keeper" (2009) or at the end of the movie "E.T. Extraterrestrial" (1982).
